This short chart is a song that I wrote for my grandma who passed away in 2020. It came to me one night all at once and it felt like she gifted it to me as an idea to honor her. This chart can be played multiple times through the form and be opened up for soloing, or played once through as a through-composed arrangement. The melody can be played on any instrument as well and the drumset player is encouraged to learn how to play an ECM/Floaty Straight 8th groove while catching the hits in the bass part. It is good practice and introduction to playing drums while reading off another instruments part, as was common practice in much of big band music in the past.
