This Chart is a feature for a charismatic male vocalist who can capture the stage with a big band behind him (and sing in spanish!) It includes clarinet doubles for all the saxophones and plungers for the brass. There are a few short solo fills in tenor sax 2/ clarinet 4. It has some intense and challenging lead trumpet lines as well, but runs short at just under 5 minutes. This arrangement is a great vessel for teaching the rhythms and style of bolero and 2-3 clave to a young and talented college band.
